  • digicam Be a shutterbug! Before you begin your weight loss programme whatever it may be spend time taking some pictures of yourself. Keep clicking every week or month as you go ahead. The idea may sound crazy to you now but it is going to be a great morale booster on a later date as you start losing your hateful body fat. The “after weight loss” photos would look beautiful and inspiring only if you know how far you’ve come through. Upload the snaps online (or make an album for yourself) and show off your success to your loved ones. Another tactic behind such a venture is to limit temptations which may come by in the form of parties and events. If people know about your earnest weight loss programme they may not coax you to drinks and dinners.
  • Join a weight loss group. You can do that online or otherwise depending on your convenience. This is the best way to meet hundreds or thousands of people like you who have lost weight or are trying to lose weight. Here, you will share your joys and pains with your fraternity and learn many things about weight loss which you would not have learnt otherwise. I bet you will find the weight loss community a great moral support and you won’t feel lonely anymore.
  • Involve your family. Weight loss is easier said than done. Neither your body nor mind is going to work as you choose. So do not hesitate to actively involve your family in to your weight loss programme. Let them know your plans without really ‘bugging’ them. They may have new ideas and if not, may keep away from sabotaging your efforts by not making tempting dinners and desserts. By involving them in to your goals, you are keeping a door open for joint ventures which could make weight loss a pleasurable experience. Who knows, some of your family may also get inspired and try losing weight loss themselves.
  • red_appleStop listening while losing weight. Family can be a friend or equally an enemy at this stage. No offense meant. Often you find your family is the culprit in making you gain weight. How? Delicious foods and unconscious emotional blackmailing. “You’ve lost enough already” and “I made this with my own hands” are dangerous dissuading statements.
  • Talk and publicise. You have already made the first step of publicising by uploading your pictures online. Many of your friends may be already jealous of your weight loss ventures but secretly. And many others may be seeking an opportunity to share their experiences with you. You may even get new tips and suggestions without really doing much.
  • Dance to music. For those who hate gyms I have a brilliant idea. Dance or exercise to your favourite music at home. Many of us find frequenting a gym a drudgery due to physical (laziness and tiredness), mental (lack of mood) and economic reasons (money, the boss). So the best way to tackle this affair is to exercise at home and make time fly by concentrating in your favourite jazz music. Use the idiot box to your advantage or get a portable music player.
