I was always a few pounds more than my recommended weight until I took up a job. Those were hectic days and I lost 10 Lbs in a few months. People raised concerns and I went for a haemoglobin and thyroid check-up. I passed the tests with distinction, I was super OK.

Housewives mostly complain about their unappreciated or unaccompanied household chores and about putting on weight. Sitting at home has his own disadvantages. You don’t earn your own cash but at the same time you tend to overeat and gain weight. Experts say that if you have the habit of tasting while cooking you are in fact overeating without being aware of it. Secondly, you alo eat the leftovers of the meals untouched by the rest of the family in fear of wasting. With more accessibility to food and time to relish your favourite things you tend to have a larger variety of snacks, beverages and food items and you sit for long hours in front of the TV after your work. A working woman is normally deprived of this luxury.

Here are a few simple weight loss ideas for housewives.

  • Stop tasting your food and eating the left overs.
  • Try making a note of what you eat and how much.
  • If you have the habit of taking tea or coffee many times a day limit that. Insteas drink lots of water.
  • If you feel that what you are cooking is earning you high calories, do some extra cooking for yourself. It is difficult but your health is as important as our family’s is.
  • You are always at an advantage. At home you can opt to eat nutritious food cooked by yourself.
  • Do not take frequent snacks. Eat fruits (not bananas)
  • Do not skip meals but eat little and avoid dairy products and animal fat. Limit the use of sugar, oil, peanuts or coconut.
  • If you are obese, eat according to a weight loss programme.
