Be aware!

Surveys say that in America half of the money is spend on lunching or dining out. And hamburger is the most favored fattening food served and eaten by the crowd. By 2006, about 31% of the US population were suffering from obesity and other health risks. A good forty percent of the US residents are predicted to be obese within the next five years even with the increasing health consciousness.

Snacking dangers aid weight gain. You are perhaps having a healthy regular diet and are on a process of weight loss. But the excuse of having a favorite snack “once in a while” might cost you a ton. Snacks also can be fattening and calorie-filled foods. A weekend visit to the nearest mall may take you to a snack bar, cheesecake factory and chocolate shops. A cookie, a cinnabon and a piece of cookie may give you from 300-900 calories in 5 minutes! Health experts and visionaries find items like cheese fries and fried macaroni frightening. It is better to restrict yourself and take half of it than a full one or carry your calorie-packs with you. (I am sure you don’t find that exciting, though).

Beware of giant delicacies too. Everything supersized in the food market-supersize bagels, sandwiches, cookies, muffins, larger servings and promised savings! But everything on a restaurant menu (be it appetizers, entrees or desserts) comes up to a 1000 calories. Tip: Even if you happen to order an entree too big for you do not force yourself to finish it. Discard it or take it in a box for the next day. Another important thing is to omit the dessert if you feel satisfied and full.

Obese children are also increasing day by day in the present scenario. Never force your child to finish his meal for a dessert. I know many mothers who give their children money instead of lunch. Do not encourage children to eat out.
