Weight loss becomes a problem when you start gaining your all those pounds which you manage to reduce. It may happen as you change your diet plan or stop exercising like before. Most of us who have successfully shed a few pounds would put on the lost weight or even some more as we shift to our regular routine. Needless to say that it is impossible to remain on a fat loss diet or a low calorie diet forever. Some of us may also face low muscle build up problem with dieting.

Your body will have a muscle loss or low muscle mass if you start dieting. Then the body will immediately start lowering the rate of metabolism in order to meet this challenge. It is our metabolism that determines the rate at which our body burns calories. So slower the metabolism rate slower the fat calorie burning rate. Lack of nutrition will keep your body busy conserving the energy which will eventually lead to fat deposits. Thus dieting may have a negative effect on your general health.

  • The wise thing to lose weight and to maintain it is to eat right. Do not skip meals and starve by any means. Eat all what you need (protein, minerals, carbohydrates, fibre etc) but in recommended proportions.
  • Eat less dinner if you choose larger breakfasts or meals.
  • If you lose weight in a short period of time you also have the chance of earning it back in the same way.
  • Keep monitoring your weight. If you see an increase try to cut it down the way you have done before.
  • Writing down what you ate would help if you want to cut down on anything to maintain your current weight.
  • Keep yourself physically active as before. Do not stop your exercise when you see that you have acheived what you wanted.
  • Stop those long hours of sitting in front of the TV or the computer.
