I don’t think I am wrong when I say that weight loss is crazy. Once you are obsessed with the idea of losing weight you cannot let go off it. You do all kinds of things to shed every single pound. But dear readers, watch out for frauds. Not all the weight loss dietary substitutes and programs are recognized by the TGA and not all weight loss consultants are qualified professionals.
Once you get out there, there is an abundance of weight loss products in the market. And many weight loss programs and products go without the strict surveillance of the TGA as they are marketed as dietary substitutes and not as medicines. The also have sellers who are just sales associates with a few hours of necessary training and no certification.
The weight loss scam doesn’t end there. The television ads , the radio ads and the magazine ads are mostly backed by celebrities who “endorse” the product. The products appearing on national TV shows do not necessarily mean that the celebrities endorse them. Consumers are requested to be wise and not to go by the television programs or the advertisements on the internet. The Better Business Bureau (BBB is a non-government network of local BBB organizations based in the USA and Canada) receives a number of complaints regarding many weight reduction products. Authorities warn the people of such frauds and ask the consumers to discern between right advertisements and the misleading ones.
A few ideas might help before you opt to buy a product over the internet.
- Do a lot of research because it is easier to cheat on the internet than on the TV or the radio.
- A physical address of the manufacturing company/the seller is a must find.
- Don’t go by the seals in the website. Check the BBB directly for the company’s rating.
- Use your credit card because credit cards are regulated by both federal and state laws.
- Avoid free trials.
