We find that some of the weight loss ideas are not really practical for a normal human being who toils hard to make his both ends meet. While worrying about wealth he is forced to neglect his health. Here are some easy-to-do ideas to maintain a healthy weight.

  • Never skip your meals to reduce calories. You tend to overeat later or develop unhealthy habits. Your calories or fat are not reduced only because you skipped a lunch. A friend started dieting and skipped his lunch regularly during work. Not only did he fail to lose weight but also developed a habit of having tea every 2 hours to quench hunger!
  • Eat a healthy snack . It is a bad idea to have french fries or vadas even for fun. Eat a healthy snack when you are hungry or every 4 hours. I have the habit of eating very less of lunch/dinner and then I get hungry later on in the day at odd times. I will then gorge in whatever comes to me and end up overeating.
  • There is no point in skipping your breakfast either.
  • Replace your dessert with a piece of your favourite fruit. It’s hard in the beginning but not impossible.
  • Include more veggies and fruits in your diet. All other foods add on to calories whereas extra vegetables and fruits won’t. This will help you to lose weight and add to your general health.
  • Try to develop a habit of eating at the right time and at regular intervals. There is no point in remaining hungry the whole day. You don’t want to be acidic. So keep a fruit or a string cheese handy. Eat slowly and chew whatever you eat very well.
  • Resisting your food temptation works well. Eating according to the serving size enables you to record how many calories you gained.  If you are on a diet, be stable and do not give in to temptations and compulsions.
  • If you can limit your alcohol intake you will see a remarkable difference. If you have decided a “no” to social drinking, say it when you need to.
  • It would be fun to start a dieting plan with a family member or a friend.

Don’t lose weight to gain it back later. After succeeding, try to maintain the balance. And last not the least, eat anything you love but do watch over what and how much you eat!
