Fad diets are weight loss diets. Fad diets are supposed to bring instant weight loss to the dieting person. A fad diet would mean a ‘failed diet’ literally, as it dawns quickly into popularity in its craziest form and may fade away in the same speed. But not all weight loss fad diets are failures. Fad diets are not recommended by nutritionists as they do not improve one’s health They emphasize on a particular kind of food in contrast to a well-balanced diet. Fad diets do not provide nutrition and health as they are designed only to get rid of those unwanted pounds.
Fad diet is a “failed diet” as a diet is supposed to be healthy whereas a fad diet is not. Some of the popular fad diets are Low carb diets, Atkins Diet, Zone Diet and so on. Some people are said to benefit from this diet like heart patients who are required to lose several pounds before their surgery. But then, it is prescribed by a registered practitioner. However, fad diets are not for long term weight loss.
Fad diets have rigid menus restricting you to a single type of food. It is a crash diet that does not involve a medical practitioner. All along, it is not supported by scientific evidence.
- If you are planning a fad diet, remember that you should not do it for more than 7 days. Also, they are monotonous and are unhealthy.
- No overexertion or less of physical activity during these days. At the same time, remember that long term inactivity is a risky affair.
- Do not celebrate the end of the diet by overeating.
- Fad diet is not recommended by physicians.
